Market square
The rectangular rynek anchors the plan. Streets leave from its corners in a near-regular pattern, and it remains the clearest geometric shape at the centre of the map.

El mapa
Opoczno lies in the south-east of Łódź Voivodeship, in gently rolling farmland. The Drzewiczka river passes the town, and its valley brings a soft curve to an otherwise open landscape. The historic core is organised around a rectangular market square. Streets leave it at the corners in the regular pattern typical of medieval Polish town charters, then fan out into later housing and industrial areas.
The town's name is known far beyond the region through ceramic tiles, which have been made here on a large scale for decades. On the map, the production sites show up as large rectangular footprints on the outskirts, with rail sidings and service roads. They are clearly different from the fine grain of the old centre and the detached houses around it.
Near the square stands a castle associated with King Casimir the Great. Local legend links it to Esterka, the king's beloved. An Opoczno map poster captures this layered small-town plan: the square, the river edge, the ring of roads carrying traffic around the centre, and the long straight routes heading out across the fields.
The rectangular rynek anchors the plan. Streets leave from its corners in a near-regular pattern, and it remains the clearest geometric shape at the centre of the map.
The river and its green banks draw a soft, curving line past the town. It adds the one natural contour to a plan otherwise shaped by roads and plots.
The ceramics plants on the edge of town appear as broad blocks with rail connections. They are a visual reminder of the industry that made the Opoczno name familiar.
