El mapa
Pākāla is a town in southern Andhra Pradesh, in the area around Tirupati, in India. It's best known as a railway junction, where the line between Tirupati and Katpadi meets the line heading northwest toward Dharmavaram. For many travellers, Pākāla is a name on the way to or from the pilgrimage centre at Tirupati.
On the map, the railway is the defining feature. Tracks come in from several directions and meet at the junction, with the town's streets gathered around the station and along the main roads. Beyond the town, the landscape has fields, irrigation tanks and scattered rocky hills that are typical of this part of the Deccan.
A Pākāla map poster puts the junction at the centre. The long, confident lines of the railway contrast with the smaller, irregular streets of the town and the open shapes of the tanks and hills. It's an understated print for railway enthusiasts and for anyone with roots in the town.

The town's streets cluster around the station and along the main roads, forming a compact core beside the railway.
Irrigation tanks and rocky hills are scattered across the surrounding country, adding open water shapes and blank spaces to the edges of the print.
