Palmitos is a municipality in the far west of Santa Catarina, in southern Brazil, a region of hills, small farms and river valleys draining toward the Uruguay River. The town centre sits on uneven ground. Its streets form a grid near the middle, and the terrain bends and breaks that pattern toward the edges.
The surrounding countryside is made up of small properties, typical of western Santa Catarina, where family farming shapes the landscape. On the map, rural roads curve along ridges and down into valleys, linking scattered farmsteads to the town. Streams cut through the hills in branching lines, adding texture to the space around the settlement.
