El mapa
Phatthalung Map Poster & Print
Phatthalung is a provincial capital in southern Thailand, set between the mountains of the Banthat range to the west and the wide waters of Songkhla Lake to the east. The land around the town is flat and low, much of it in rice fields, broken by striking limestone hills that rise abruptly from the plain.
One of these, Khao Ok Thalu, is the town's emblem. It has a natural hole through its summit that makes its silhouette easy to recognise. On a map, the town centre is a compact grid of streets around the railway line, which runs north to south through the middle, with roads extending toward the lake and the mountains. Wetlands and fields spread outward in every direction.
A Phatthalung map poster captures a town between two landscapes. The compact grid, the straight railway and the open plain are all clearly visible. Phatthalung is also closely associated with nang talung, the southern Thai shadow puppet theatre, whose name is thought to come from the province. The map offers a quiet, precise image of a place with a strong local identity.
