The confluence
The Nechako flows into the Fraser just east of downtown. The meeting of two broad rivers is the central, defining shape of the poster.

El mapa
Prince George Map Poster & Print
Prince George sits in the geographic centre of British Columbia, where the Nechako River joins the Fraser. From above, the confluence is the key feature. The two rivers meet just east of downtown and wrap around it in broad curves, while the downtown grid fills the land between them. Suburbs climb onto the benches and hills to the west and south.
The site was a meeting place long before the city, and the North West Company established Fort George here in 1807. Today Prince George is the main service centre for northern BC, with railway yards, pulp mills along the river and the University of Northern British Columbia on the hill above the city.
A Prince George map poster highlights the rivers. In black and white the Fraser and the Nechako become wide pale bands, Fort George Park and Cottonwood Island appear at their meeting point, and the straight downtown streets stand out against the curving water.

Downtown grid
A regular street grid fills the land bounded by the rivers. Its straight lines contrast with the curves of the water on two sides.
Parks by the river
Fort George Park and Cottonwood Island Nature Park line the riverbanks near the confluence. They leave open green space where the city meets the water.

Por qué Prince George
Un mapa con significado
Prince George is where many northern British Columbians go to school, work in the mills or start a family. A map of the confluence and the city around it makes a grounded, meaningful gift for anyone who calls the north home.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, for example with a neighbourhood or a year. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Blueprint shows off the rivers especially well.
