Sārni is an industrial town in the Betul district of Madhya Pradesh, set among the forested ridges of the Satpura range. Its identity is tied to the Satpura Thermal Power Station, and the map reflects that. A planned township of residential colonies and straight internal roads sits beside the large, geometric footprint of the plant and the railway lines that serve it.
Water is the other defining shape. A reservoir lies close to the town, pushing its irregular shoreline into the surrounding hills. It gives the map a broad open area that balances the dense layout of the housing. Around it, roads wind through wooded country, and the mining settlements of the area appear as smaller clusters joined by thin lines.
