El mapa
Shar’ya lies in the north-east of Kostroma Oblast, where the main railway toward Kirov and the Urals crosses the Vetluga River. The town grew up around the line. From above, its streets run roughly parallel to the tracks, and the sidings and yards make a long band through the centre.
The Vetluga runs past on the town's western side in wide bends, with meadows and oxbow traces along it. Beyond these, the land is almost entirely forest. That forest has shaped the local economy, and timber and woodworking have long been important here alongside the railway.
A Shar’ya map poster keeps this simple order: a straight railway spine, blocks of streets on either side of it, and a loose river to one side. The surrounding woodland stays mostly white on the print, which lets the town's outline stand clearly on the page.
Tracks and sidings cut through Shar’ya in a long straight band. The neighbouring streets follow that alignment, so the whole town has one clear axis.
West of town, the river makes broad, lazy loops through low meadows. Old channels and oxbows leave faint curved marks beside the main course.
The built-up area ends abruptly where the surrounding forest begins. This gives the town a compact, well-defined shape when seen from above.

Por qué Shar’ya
Railway towns like Shar’ya are remembered by the people who grew up there, worked on the line or passed through on long journeys east. A calm map of its tracks, streets and river is a modest way to keep that place close.
You can set your own title, subtitle and coordinates line and choose from five styles: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Download 300 DPI PNG and PDF files for $9, or order a matte print with an optional wooden frame.
