El mapa
Talāja is a town in Bhavnagar district, on the Saurashtra peninsula of Gujarat, not far from the western shore of the Gulf of Khambhat. The land around it is mostly flat, so one feature stands out: a single hill rising right beside the town. The streets and lanes of the older quarters gather around it.
The hill holds a group of rock-cut caves generally dated to the early Buddhist period, with a Jain temple at the summit, and it has drawn visitors for centuries. Talāja is also traditionally regarded as the birthplace of Narsinh Mehta, the fifteenth-century poet-saint of Gujarati devotional literature, whose hymns are still sung across the state.
A Talāja map poster shows the town as a compact core of irregular lanes pressed against the hill, with roads leading out across farmland toward the coast and toward Bhavnagar. It makes a considered gift for anyone with roots in Saurashtra, or for anyone who has climbed the hill and looked out over the plain.
A single hill beside the town contains a cluster of ancient rock-cut caves. It is the natural centre of the surrounding street pattern.
Near the hill, narrow and irregular lanes form a dense core. Further out they loosen into wider roads and newer blocks.
To the east the flat land runs toward the Gulf of Khambhat. Rural roads and watercourses cross it and give the edges of the map a quiet texture.

Por qué Talāja
Talāja means something specific to the people who know it: a temple visit, a family house, a poet's name. A map keeps the hill and the lanes around it in view, wherever life has taken you.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. For $9 you get six print sizes as 300 DPI PNG and PDF files, with no watermark.
