El mapa
Texas City Map Poster & Print
Texas City lies on the western shore of Galveston Bay, between Houston and Galveston. The city's shape is defined by the water. A regular street grid spreads inland, while the port, refineries and industrial plants occupy the shoreline, and the Texas City Dike runs for miles straight out into the bay.
The city is remembered for the Texas City disaster of 1947, when a ship loaded with ammonium nitrate exploded in the port. It was one of the deadliest industrial accidents in American history. Today the port and petrochemical industry remain central to the local economy, and the dike is a popular spot for fishing and watching ships.
A Texas City map poster brings together the long straight line of the dike, the dense rectangles of the industrial waterfront and the regular residential grid behind them. The result is a strong, graphic composition. It suits people who work in the port, families with long roots on the bay, and anyone drawn to the Gulf Coast.

Industrial waterfront
Refineries, tank farms and port facilities line the shore in dense, geometric shapes, forming a heavy band between the city and the bay.
Residential grid
Inland, the city spreads in a regular grid of blocks and avenues, a calm pattern that balances the industrial edge along the water.

Por qué Texas City
Un mapa con significado
For many families, Texas City is bound up with work on the refineries and the port, and with memories of fishing off the dike. A map poster keeps that relationship between town and bay in clear view.
