Weiji is a town in the north of Jiangsu province in eastern China, within the wider Xuzhou area. The land here belongs to the broad, low plain of northern Jiangsu, and the map makes that obvious: roads run long and straight, blocks are laid out on regular lines, and there is little in the terrain to make the street plan bend. Farmland extends from the town in every direction.
Seen from above, this flatness produces a clear, orderly composition. Wide main roads frame the centre, newer districts add larger blocks toward the edges, and field boundaries carry the geometry out into the countryside.
