Railroad crossroads downtown

El mapa
Winder sits in the rolling Piedmont of northeast Georgia, between Atlanta and Athens, and its map is organised around the railroad. The old downtown gathers where the rail lines cross, with a tight block pattern at the centre that loosens into curving subdivision streets, farm roads and patches of woodland toward the edges. It is a typical small Southern railroad town in outline, still readable at the heart.
The town grew up as a crossroads settlement known as Jug Tavern, and it was renamed Winder in the 1890s after John H. Winder, a railroad official, as the rail lines arrived. It is now the seat of Barrow County. A Winder map poster shows that history directly: the tracks that gave the place its name still run through the middle of the plan.
Just south of the centre, Fort Yargo State Park adds a different texture. Its lake, with an irregular, many-fingered shoreline set in forest, is the largest open shape on the map, and it contrasts with the straighter lines of downtown. Along the southern side of town, the state highway toward Athens draws a long, smooth arc through the more recent growth.
The rail lines meet at the old commercial centre, and the densest blocks cluster around them. On the poster this crossing is the anchor point that the rest of Winder grows out from.
The state park's lake lies just south of town, its branching shoreline cutting into wooded land. In black and white it is a bold, organic shape beside the street pattern.
Outside the centre, cul-de-sacs and winding rural roads thin out into open ground. The gradual loosening from grid to countryside gives the print a clear sense of scale.

Por qué Winder
Winder is the kind of place people carry with them: a hometown, the county seat where a family has lived for generations, or the first house bought within reach of Atlanta or Athens. The map keeps the railroad, the downtown blocks and the lake together in one calm, recognisable composition.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be personalised, for a street address, a wedding date or simply the town's name. Pick one of five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, and take the $9 HD files or a framed print.
