Boynton Beach Map Poster & Print
Boynton Beach lies on Florida's southeast coast in Palm Beach County. From above, the city is framed by water on the east, where the Intracoastal Waterway runs in a straight channel behind a narrow barrier island, and the Boynton Inlet cuts through to the Atlantic Ocean.
West of the waterway, the map settles into a regular grid of streets and arterial roads, with canals, lakes and golf courses spreading inland. A Boynton Beach map poster captures that layered structure, with ocean, barrier island, waterway and mainland lined up in parallel bands.
The city is named after Nathan Boynton, a Michigan politician who built a hotel here in the late nineteenth century. Today it is largely residential, with marinas along the waterway and beaches reached across bridges to the barrier island.

Intracoastal Waterway
The waterway runs north to south along the city's eastern edge, a long ribbon of water separating the mainland from the barrier island.
Inland lakes and canals
West of the coast, drainage canals and small lakes break up the suburban grid, adding irregular shapes to the otherwise orderly street pattern.
