Chabahar Bay
A wide, sheltered bay curves between the town and Konarak across the water. Its smooth outline is the main shape of the poster and suits the Blueprint style especially well.

Chabahar Map Poster & Print
Chabahar sits on the southeastern coast of Iran, in Sistan and Baluchestan province, on a broad bay opening onto the Gulf of Oman. Unlike Iran's other main ports, it lies outside the Strait of Hormuz and faces the Indian Ocean directly. On the map the bay's gentle crescent dominates, with the town at one end of its shore and Konarak across the water.
The streets of the older centre are compact and low, while newer districts, the port and a free trade zone spread along the coast in wide, regular blocks. The land behind is flat and arid, crossed by long roads and dry channels. As a result, the town's outline and the smooth curve of the shoreline stand out sharply against the surrounding ground.
Chabahar's Shahid Beheshti port has been expanded with Indian involvement as a gateway to Afghanistan and Central Asia. The area is also known for its mild winters and the unusual eroded clay hills nearby. A Chabahar map poster shows a place where Iran meets the open ocean, drawn in simple lines of coast and street.

Port and free zone
Docks, breakwaters and the free trade zone stretch along the shore in large, orderly blocks. They add strong angular lines at the water's edge.
Coastal plain
Behind the town lies flat, dry land crossed by long roads. The empty space gives the composition a spare, open frame around the settled coastline.

Pourquoi Chabahar
Une carte qui a du sens
Chabahar holds a special place for people from Baluchestan and for those who have worked in its port and trade zone. A map of the bay and streets is a restrained reminder of the warm southern coast, far from the mountains of northern Iran.
Personalise the title and subtitle with a name, a date or a note, and keep the coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The $9 digital files cover six sizes, or you can order a matte print with an optional wooden frame.
