Nechí River
The river sweeps past the town in wide bends and is the strongest line on the sheet. On the Paper or Sand style it becomes a soft, pale band through the design.

El Bagre Map Poster & Print
El Bagre stands on the Nechí River in the lowlands of northern Antioquia, where the Andes give way to flat, wet land. On a map the river is the main line: a wide, curving channel with the town set against one bank, a close grid of blocks facing the water and thinning out into roads and open land behind it.
The town has long been tied to gold. Alluvial mining along the Nechí has been central to its economy for generations, and the river has served as both a workplace and a transport route. That link to the water is visible in the town's shape, which grows along the bank rather than spreading evenly inland.
An El Bagre map poster puts the river front and centre. Its broad curves, the compact blocks beside it and the thin roads heading into the countryside make a clear composition in black and white. It is a quiet image of a working river town, and it means the most to people who know the place from the ground.

Riverside grid
The town's blocks are laid out in a simple grid against the riverbank. It is densest near the water and loosens toward the edges, showing how the town grew.
Lowland surroundings
Beyond the streets, the map opens up into flat lowland with only a few roads and channels. That open space gives the compact town a sense of place.
