Magangué Map Poster & Print
Magangué lies on the Magdalena, Colombia's main river, in the department of Bolívar. Its map is dominated by water. The town lines the riverbank, with streets running back from the waterfront in an irregular grid. Around it, the river splits into channels, and marshes and seasonal lagoons spread across the low ground of the Mompox Depression.
For a long time the river was the main route through this part of Colombia, and Magangué grew as a port and trading town for the surrounding lowlands. Boats still link it to smaller riverside settlements, including the historic town of Mompox. The landscape floods and dries with the seasons, so the edges of water on the map are only one moment in a changing cycle.
A Magangué map poster makes the river the main subject. The wide Magdalena and its branching arms cut broad shapes across the frame, and the town sits along one bank as a denser cluster of streets. The wetlands add scattered, irregular forms that give the print a soft, natural texture.

Channels and lagoons
The river divides into arms, and lagoons and marshes spread across the lowlands. On the poster they form an intricate pattern of irregular water bodies.
Riverside streets
The urban grid runs back from the river in short blocks. It shows a town that grew facing the water, where the port was always the focus.
