Farkhor Map Poster & Print
Farkhor is a town in Khatlon Province in the far south of Tajikistan, close to the Panj River, which forms the border with Afghanistan. The surrounding district is a low, warm plain given over largely to irrigated farming. The town is its administrative and market centre, serving the villages spread across the fields around it.
On the map, Farkhor has a simple, legible structure. A central grid of streets gives way to wider plots with houses and gardens, and main roads run out toward neighbouring districts and the river. Irrigation canals trace long, straight lines across the fields, while the Panj winds in broad braided channels to the south.
A Farkhor map poster captures a border town in its farming setting, where the pattern of fields is as much a part of the picture as the streets. The orderly canals and the freely moving river balance each other, one made by people and the other by nature.

Canal network
Straight irrigation canals divide the surrounding plain into long, narrow fields, the dominant pattern across this intensively farmed part of southern Khatlon.
Panj River
To the south, the Panj spreads into braided channels and islands as it forms the border with Afghanistan, a loose, flowing line at the edge of the map.
