Lake Ray Hubbard
The reservoir forms Garland's eastern edge, a wide expanse of water with fingers reaching into the shoreline. It contrasts sharply with the regular grid of streets just to the west.

Garland Map Poster & Print
Garland spreads across the rolling prairie north-east of Dallas in a wide, mostly regular pattern of arterial roads enclosing curving residential streets. On the eastern side, the city reaches the shore of Lake Ray Hubbard. There the neat suburban layout meets the irregular inlets of a large reservoir, and the map changes character completely.
Major highways frame the city, including the President George Bush Turnpike and Interstate 635. Duck Creek and other small streams run through the neighbourhoods as thin green corridors. The historic downtown square, the heart of the town before its postwar growth, still sits near the centre of the grid.
A Garland map poster shows a quintessential Texas suburb with the added drama of a lakeshore edge. It suits families who have lived in the city for generations, people who moved to the Dallas area for work, and anyone who sees a quiet beauty in a well-ordered suburban map.

Arterial grid
Wide main roads run at regular intervals across the city and divide it into large blocks. These blocks are filled with the looping residential streets and cul-de-sacs typical of Texas suburbs.
Downtown square
The historic town square near the centre gives Garland a small, compact core. Its older streets form a finer pattern within the much larger suburban layout that surrounds them.

Pourquoi Garland
Une carte qui a du sens
A map of Garland marks a family home, a first house or years spent in the Dallas area. Together, the lakeshore and the grid make a composition that looks considered rather than generic.
Add a street name, a surname or a moving date to the title and subtitle, and choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The HD files cost $9 and come in six print sizes, including 18×24″ and 24×36″.
