Lake Carolyn and canal
At the heart of Las Colinas, a man-made lake and the Mandalay Canal form a waterside core. On the map it stands out as a compact, curving shape among the office blocks.

La carte
Irving Map Poster & Print
Irving fills the land between Dallas and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, and its map changes character from one district to the next. Older neighbourhoods in the south follow a conventional grid. To the north, the Las Colinas development introduces curving boulevards, office towers and a man-made lake, and highways thread through the whole city, linking it to the wider metroplex.
Las Colinas is one of the most ambitious planned developments in Texas. At its centre are Lake Carolyn and the Mandalay Canal, which is lined with walkways. Nearby, the Mustangs of Las Colinas sculpture shows wild horses running across a plaza. On the eastern edge, the Elm Fork of the Trinity River winds through open floodplain.
An Irving map poster brings together this mix of grid, lake and river, framed by the major roads that carry traffic between two of the largest cities in Texas. It works for residents, for professionals whose careers began in Las Colinas, and for anyone who came through the airport and stayed a while.

Trinity floodplain
The Elm Fork of the Trinity River meanders along the city's eastern side through a wide, open floodplain. It creates a natural break between Irving and Dallas.
Highway framework
Interstates and state highways cross Irving in several directions. They link the city to Dallas and the airport and divide it into clearly separate districts.

Pourquoi Irving
Une carte qui a du sens
Irving is a place of first jobs, corporate moves and family homes close to the airport. A map of the city holds those years in one image, and the lake and river add a sense of place.
