Hooghly estuary
The wide, tidal channel of the Hooghly runs along the eastern side of the city. It leaves a large area of open space on the map that frames everything else.

La carte
Haldia Map Poster & Print
Haldia lies in Purba Medinipur district of West Bengal, on the western bank of the Hooghly estuary where the Haldi River joins it. The river here is broad and tidal. On a map the city appears as a strip of docks, industrial plants and planned townships along a long waterfront, with farmland and creeks stretching inland.
The city was developed from the 1960s onward as a deep-water outlet for Kolkata, whose own port lies far upriver. The Haldia Dock Complex handles bulk cargo and petroleum, and the city is home to a large oil refinery and petrochemical industries. Together they make Haldia one of eastern India's major industrial centres.
Water dominates a Haldia map poster. The estuary fills much of the frame as a clean, open field, and the dock basins cut sharp rectangles into the shoreline. Behind them, the roads of the townships form an orderly pattern. The composition feels closer to an engineering drawing than to a traditional town plan.

Dock basins
The enclosed docks and jetties of the port form crisp geometric shapes along the waterfront, giving the poster a strong industrial character.
Haldi confluence
Where the Haldi River meets the Hooghly, the shoreline bends and splits. The riverbanks create a natural corner in the composition.

Pourquoi Haldia
Une carte qui a du sens
Haldia is a working city, and many of the people connected to it have spent careers at the port, the refinery or the plants around them. A map of the estuary and docks is a fitting tribute to that work and to the town that grew around it.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be personalised. Blueprint is a natural match for this engineered landscape, and four other styles are available. Every HD purchase includes a 300 DPI PNG and a print-ready PDF for each of six sizes.
