Haripād lies in the Alappuzha district of Kerala, on the southern fringe of the low-lying Kuttanad region, where land and water mingle. The town is known across Kerala for the Haripad Sree Subrahmanya Swamy Temple, one of the region's important shrines to Lord Murugan.
