La carte
Husum Map Poster & Print
Husum lies on the west coast of Schleswig-Holstein, on the edge of the North Sea and the Wadden Sea. From above, the town is built around a narrow inner harbour that reaches almost to the market square. The old streets are compact and irregular, and outside them the land opens into the flat marshes of North Frisia, crossed by drainage ditches and protected by dikes.
The writer Theodor Storm was born here and called Husum the grey town by the sea, a phrase that has stayed with it ever since. In spring, the park of the castle, Schloss vor Husum, is known for its carpets of purple crocuses. The town is also home to one of the most important trade fairs for the wind energy industry.
A Husum map poster connects the town with the sea. The harbour cuts inland like a finger, the old town clusters around it, and beyond the dikes the coast breaks up into tidal flats and channels. In black and white, the contrast between the dense centre and the open, flat land around it gives the map its calm, northern character.

Castle park
The castle and its park form a large green space near the centre. On the map it is a calm, open area in contrast to the dense lanes of the old town.
Marsh and dikes
Flat marshland stretches out around the town, divided by straight drainage ditches. The dikes along the coast draw long lines that separate the land from the tidal flats.

Pourquoi Husum
Une carte qui a du sens
Husum means sea air, harbour walks and Storm's grey town to many people, whether they were born here or come back every summer. A map carries some of that North Sea calm into a room.
Personalise the title, add a date or a line of Storm to the subtitle, and adjust the coordinates. The Blueprint and Noir styles suit the coastline. Classic black and white, Paper and Sand are also available.
