Jalore Fort
The fort's walls follow the top of a rocky granite hill above the town. On the map they appear as an irregular enclosed shape, clearly different from the streets below.

Jalor Map Poster & Print
Jalor sits in southwestern Rajasthan at the base of a steep granite hill crowned by Jalore Fort. From above, the fort's walls trace the top of the hill, and the old town fills the ground below in a dense tangle of lanes. Newer roads and neighbourhoods extend outwards onto the surrounding plain.
The fort is one of the region's best-known historic strongholds, and its long walls and gates were built to follow the hill's rugged outline. In more recent times the district has become known for granite quarrying and stonework, and the stone that shaped the fort now also supports a large local industry.
A Jalor map poster brings out the relationship between hill and town. The fort's irregular outline sits to one side of the composition, the old lanes cluster tightly below it, and straighter modern roads lead away across flat land. The contrast between rock, old town and plain makes a strong, legible print.

Old town lanes
At the foot of the hill, narrow winding lanes form a dense cluster. That fine texture marks the historic heart of Jalor and gives the poster its most detailed area.
Roads onto the plain
Newer roads leave the old town in straighter lines across the flat surrounding land. They show how Jalor has grown outward from its original core beneath the fort.
