Jam Map Poster
Jam lies inland in Bushehr province, in the southern foothills of the Zagros mountains. From above, the town is a tight cluster of streets set in a valley between long, parallel ridges, with the dry terrain around it cut by seasonal watercourses that run only after rare rains.
The town has grown in recent decades partly because of its position near southern Iran's major gas and energy developments along the coast, which have brought new housing and roads. On the map, older, more irregular lanes near the centre sit beside newer districts with wider, straighter streets.
A Jam map poster shows a desert-edge town defined by its setting: a small urban shape inside a strong frame of mountain ridges. In fine black lines the contrast between the dense town and the open land around it is striking and calm at the same time.

Old and new districts
Irregular lanes near the centre give way to newer neighbourhoods with broader, more regular streets, a visible record of the town's recent growth.
Seasonal watercourses
Dry riverbeds cross the surrounding terrain, carrying water only after heavy rain, and trace thin branching lines across the open land.
