Market square
The rectangular rynek with its town hall standing in the middle is the historic centre, a small, clear shape from which the main streets lead outward.

Jarocin Map Poster & Print
Jarocin is a district town in the Greater Poland region, south-east of Poznań, surrounded by the level fields typical of western Poland. Its map is centred on the market square with the town hall standing in the middle, the classic layout of a Polish town, and a tight network of older streets that gives way to housing estates, railway lines and farmland.
Across Poland the name is linked above all with music. The Jarocin Festival, which drew nationwide crowds in the 1980s, became the country's best-known rock festival during the communist era, a rare space where punk and independent bands could play to large audiences. It still takes place in the town and gives this modest place an outsized cultural reputation.
A Jarocin map poster suits festival veterans as much as locals. At a close scale it shows the square, the town hall block and the streets leading away from it; at a wider one, the railway lines, the green spaces and the patchwork of fields surrounding the town all come into view.

Railway lines
Tracks approach the town from several directions, drawing long, straight lines across the map and marking Jarocin's place on the rail network of Greater Poland.
Farmland edges
Beyond the housing estates the town dissolves into flat, open fields divided into long strips and blocks, a restful border around the denser centre.

Pourquoi Jarocin
Une carte qui a du sens
For many Poles Jarocin means a formative summer of loud guitars and campsites, while for residents it is simply home. Either way, a map of the town is a quiet reminder of a place that played a bigger role than its size suggests.
Add a title, a subtitle such as a festival year, and the coordinates, and pick from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Noir works especially well for a town with such a strong musical identity.
