Kāsībugga lies in Srikakulam district, near the northern tip of Andhra Pradesh and close to the border with Odisha. It forms a twin town with Palasa, and the two share a single municipality. On a map they read as one continuous settlement. Dense commercial streets fill the centre, and residential areas spread out into green, gently rolling countryside that stretches toward the Bay of Bengal.
The area is known for cashews. Palasa and Kāsībugga are among the most important cashew-processing centres in India, and plantations dot the surrounding land. The east coast highway and the main railway between Chennai and Howrah both pass close by. They frame the town with long straight lines that contrast with the tangle of its older lanes.
