La carte
Khapat Map Poster & Print
Khapat lies on the edge of Porbandar, in the Saurashtra peninsula of Gujarat, a short distance from the Arabian Sea. On a map it forms part of the wider urban area around the city, with dense residential streets meeting open land, salt flats and low coastal ground. Roads link it closely to the centre of Porbandar.
Porbandar is best known as the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi, and the region has a long history as a seafaring and trading coast. Around Khapat, that coastal setting is visible in the flat terrain and in the way the streets stop at open ground. The sea is close enough to shape the whole feel of the map.
A Khapat map poster is a local print rather than a tourist souvenir. It shows streets that residents know closely, along with the transition from town to shore that characterises this part of Gujarat. In black and white, the dense blocks and the empty coastal land create a strong and simple contrast.

Coastal flats
Low, open land stretches toward the Arabian Sea. It shows up as broad empty space that frames the dense streets on the landward side.
Compact lanes
Residential lanes are narrow and tightly packed, forming an irregular pattern that gives the centre of the poster its detail and texture.
