The northern bay
The coast curves into a sheltered bay in front of the town. This curved outline gives the map its main shape and marks where boats and fishing activity gather.

Lahewa Map Poster & Print
Lahewa is on the northern shore of Nias, an island off the west coast of Sumatra in the Indian Ocean. From above, the town is a short band of streets along the water, with a coastline that bends into a bay. Behind it, the land rises into green, lightly settled interior, crossed by only a few roads.
It is the main town of North Nias, and life here depends on the sea, fishing and the coastal road that links it to the rest of the island. Nias is known for its traditional villages and strong surf culture, and the island was badly damaged by the 2005 earthquake. Lahewa has been rebuilt along its familiar shoreline.
A Lahewa map poster is mostly about edges. The coastline forms the strongest line on the sheet, and the town appears as a small, fine cluster of streets along the water. With so much open sea and land around the settlement, the composition feels calm and spacious. It is a fitting keepsake for anyone connected to Nias.

Shoreline streets
Streets mostly run parallel to the water, so the town forms a long, narrow strip instead of a grid. That makes the settlement look light and linear on paper.
Island interior
South of the town, the map opens into sparsely settled, forested land crossed by a few roads. This empty space sets off the coast.

Pourquoi Lahewa
Une carte qui a du sens
Lahewa is far from most people's usual routes. People who live there, come from there, or visited Nias for work or the waves often want a reminder of it. A clean coastline map is a quiet way to mark that tie.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, and choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint and Noir suit a coastal subject well. A free 900 px watermarked preview lets you check the result before you buy.
