Lampertheim Map Poster & Print
Lampertheim is in southern Hesse, on the flat Hessisches Ried just north of Mannheim and across the Rhine from Worms. The map is shaped by the river. West of the town, the old arm of the Rhine known as the Lampertheimer Altrhein curves through meadows and floodplain woodland, a protected landscape left over from the days before the Rhine was straightened in the nineteenth century.
The town itself is compact, with an older centre around the neo-Gothic church of St. Andreas, locally called the Dom des Ried, and newer districts spreading across the level ground. Rail lines and main roads cross the plain towards Mannheim, Darmstadt and Worms. Outside the town, long rectangular fields fill the map, many of them planted with the asparagus the area is known for.
A Lampertheim map poster sets all of this in a clear balance: the tight streets of the town, the straight lines of fields and railways, and the loose curves of old river channels. In black and white, the Altrhein meanders stand out especially well against the geometry of the farmland.

Dom des Ried
The large church of St. Andreas anchors the old centre, and the streets of the historic core close in around it.
Asparagus plain
Around the town, long narrow fields cover the flat Ried, and many are used for the white asparagus that Lampertheim is known for in spring.

Pourquoi Lampertheim
Une carte qui a du sens
The map suits anyone with a tie to the Ried: people who grew up here, commuters to Mannheim, or visitors who came for asparagus season and walked along the Altrhein. It shows the river country and the town in a single frame.
