La carte
Marmaris Map Poster & Print
Marmaris wraps around the head of a deep, almost enclosed bay on the southwest coast of Turkey. On a map the town follows the curve of the shoreline, with streets filling the narrow strip of flat land between the water and the steep, forested hills behind it. Islands and peninsulas close off the bay, giving the design a strong, protected shape.
The old town gathers around Marmaris Castle, a small fortress rebuilt in the sixteenth century during the reign of Süleyman the Magnificent. Today the harbour and large marina make Marmaris a centre for yacht sailing, and ferries cross to the Greek island of Rhodes, visible across the water from nearby headlands.
A Marmaris map poster captures one of the most distinctive bays on the Turkish coast. The curving waterfront, the tight old quarter by the castle and the rugged slopes around the town create a composition full of contrast. In Sand or Paper, it recalls a navigator's chart of a safe anchorage.

Castle and old town
The small castle rises above a compact old quarter of narrow streets close to the harbour, forming the densest part of the map.
Marina waterfront
A large marina and long seafront promenade line the water, showing clearly on the map as piers, basins and a continuous edge along the bay.
