Right-angled centre
The historic core is a clear chessboard of straight streets and even blocks, one of the most regular town plans in this part of Sicily and very graphic in print.

La carte
Pachino Map Poster & Print
Pachino lies close to the southeastern corner of Sicily, a few kilometres inland from the sea, in a flat landscape of farmland and low coastal ground. From above, the town is recognisable at once by its order: the centre is laid out as a regular grid of straight streets crossing at right angles, a sign of its planned origin in the eighteenth century.
The name is known far beyond Sicily through the Pachino tomato, a protected product grown in the surrounding countryside. The area is also associated with wine, especially Nero d'Avola vines. On the map the town's grid fades into a patchwork of plots and rural roads running toward the coast and the fishing village of Marzamemi.
A Pachino map poster gives that tidy plan a lot of room. The square blocks read almost like graph paper, and the lanes leading out through the fields show how closely the town is tied to the land around it. Include more of the coast and the lagoons appear as soft open shapes near the island's southern edge.

Farmland patchwork
Around the town, small fields and greenhouse plots divided by country lanes form a fine mosaic, the landscape that produces the tomatoes Pachino is known for.
Road to the coast
Roads lead out from the grid toward Marzamemi and the shoreline, linking the inland town to the fishing harbours and beaches of Sicily's southeastern tip.

Pourquoi Pachino
Une carte qui a du sens
For anyone with family roots in the Val di Noto, or summers spent between Pachino and the coast, the regular grid is instantly familiar. It makes a calm, orderly print that works well in a kitchen or a bright living room.
Personalise the title and subtitle with a family name or a summer date, keep or change the coordinates line, and choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The warm Sand tone suits this sunlit corner of Sicily.
