Plains setting
With almost no relief, the town's form is set by roads, rail and water. On the poster this produces an open, even composition in which every line has a clear purpose.

Purnia Map Poster & Print
Purnia is the headquarters of a district and division in north-eastern Bihar, on the broad alluvial plain between the Kosi and Mahananda river systems. The land is almost perfectly flat, and on a map the town spreads outward along a few main roads, with residential areas, markets and institutions filling the space between them and fields close at hand.
Water shapes the region. Rivers here have shifted course many times over the centuries, leaving old channels, ponds and low ground that appear as scattered shapes around the town. Purnia sits on important routes toward north Bengal and the north-east, and it has long served as a trading and administrative centre for a largely agricultural region.
A Purnia map poster gives a clear picture of a plains town. The main roads read as long, confident lines, the older bazaar areas tighten into dense clusters, and water bodies punctuate the surrounding countryside. It is an understated composition that suits people who know the town well and value a precise record of it.

Ponds and old channels
Water bodies and traces of former river courses dot the land around the town. They appear as small, irregular shapes that break up the pattern of streets and fields.
Main road corridors
Principal roads lead out toward neighbouring districts and further regions. Along them, shops and houses have grown in long strips, giving the map its linear, branching character.
