Branching lanes
Narrow roads divide and divide again as they reach individual homes, creating a delicate tree-like network that fills the whole frame.

Puthuppally Map Poster & Print
Puthuppally lies in Kottayam district in central Kerala, a short distance from Kottayam town. Like much of this part of the state, it does not have a sharply defined centre. On the map, houses and lanes spread across gently rolling ground, linked by roads that bend around small hills and paddy fields rather than following any grid.
The landscape between the roads is dense with trees, rubber plantations and home gardens, and small streams and low-lying fields run through the gaps. From above, the settlement reads as a fine, branching network of lanes, each serving a handful of houses, spreading outward in every direction with no clear boundary.
Puthuppally is widely known for St. George Orthodox Church, an important place of pilgrimage, and as the home constituency of former Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy. A Puthuppally map poster captures the quieter side of the place: the soft, organic pattern of its roads and the way the town blends into the countryside.

Rolling ground
Low hills and valleys shape the road pattern here, so routes curve and loop instead of running straight between two points.
Paddy and streams
Flat fields and small watercourses in the lower ground form open spaces between clusters of houses, giving the poster pauses in its otherwise dense texture.

Pourquoi Puthuppally
Une carte qui a du sens
For Malayalis far from home, a map of Puthuppally is a way of keeping a familiar road, a church or a family house close. The lines are gentle and irregular, much like the landscape they record.
You can title it with a family name, add a wedding date or a house name as the subtitle, and adjust the coordinates. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, and order a matte print or download the HD files.
