Pistachio orchards
Walled and irrigated plots surround the town in a patchwork of rectangles. Their boundaries give the edges of the poster a regular, almost architectural rhythm.

Rafsanjān Map Poster & Print
Rafsanjān sits on a high, dry plain in Kerman province in southeastern Iran, with mountains on the horizon. From above, the town is a dense urban core inside a much larger pattern of cultivated plots. The surrounding orchards form rectangles and strips of land, divided by tracks and irrigation lines, which gives the whole map a surprisingly orderly look.
The area is one of the world's best-known pistachio-growing regions, and the crop has shaped both the economy and the landscape. Water has long reached these fields through qanats, the underground channels typical of Iran's arid interior. The town is also known as the namesake of Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, the former Iranian president, who was born nearby.
A Rafsanjān map poster translates this landscape into black and white: the tight weave of streets in the centre, the broad roads leading out and the calm geometry of the fields beyond. It suits anyone with roots in the region, and anyone who appreciates how farming can draw its own map around a town.

Desert plain
Rafsanjān lies on an open, arid plain with no river or coastline. The streets meet the surrounding land directly, so the town's outline stands out clearly.
Radiating roads
Main roads lead out of the centre towards Kerman and other towns of the province, drawing straight lines across the farmland.
