Compact desert core
The streets draw close together, as they tend to in arid towns where shade and water shape how people build. This gives the centre of the poster a concentrated, finely textured look.

Rāvar Map Poster & Print
Rāvar lies in the dry uplands of Kerman province in southeastern Iran, north of the provincial capital. The landscape around it is arid and wide open, with mountain ridges on the horizon and settlements that gather tightly wherever water and roads allow. From above, the town appears as a clear, contained cluster set against a great deal of empty space.
The town is known well beyond Iran through its carpets. The name of the traditional Kerman rugs sold as Laver or Ravar Kerman comes from here, and it is associated with finely woven, intricately patterned pieces. That link to careful, geometric craft suits a map print, which works in a similar way through line and repetition.
A Rāvar map poster emphasises this contrast between settlement and desert. The streets form a dense, legible core, and the roads leading out stretch in long, direct lines across the plateau. In black and white the town's edges look precise and self-contained, like a pattern placed on an otherwise quiet field.

Roads across the plateau
The routes leaving Rāvar run long and straight over open terrain. On the map they read as bold, confident strokes that link the town to the wider Kerman region.
Open surroundings
Beyond the built edge there is mostly blank ground. That emptiness frames the town strongly and makes the settlement itself the clear subject of the composition.

Pourquoi Rāvar
Une carte qui a du sens
Hang Rāvar for a family connection to Kerman province, for an interest in Persian carpet heritage, or simply for the graphic strength of a desert town drawn in ink. It works well in a minimalist interior because so much of the frame is calm.
Add a personal title, a subtitle in any script you like and a coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand is a natural fit for a town in the desert.
