Crescent waterfront
The seafront promenade follows the curve of the bay in one continuous arc. It defines the outline of the town and makes the coastline the focus of the poster.

Sarandë Map Poster & Print
Sarandë sits on a curved bay on the Ionian coast of southern Albania, across a narrow strait from Corfu. From above, the town wraps around the water in a crescent. A long promenade traces the shoreline, and the streets behind it climb the hillside in bands that follow the curve of the bay. The higher streets become steep and winding, then stop where the hill turns to scrub.
The name comes from the Forty Saints monastery, whose ruins stand on a hill above town. A short drive south is Butrint, an ancient site listed by UNESCO, set on a lagoon near the Greek border. Together they give this stretch of coast a history much older than its modern seafront.
A Sarandë map poster uses the coastline as its strongest line, with the bay's clean arc and the town layered behind it. The sea stays as open space, which gives the composition a calm balance between water and dense streets.

Terraced streets
Streets run parallel to the shore in stepped rows up the hillside. Each row follows the curve below it, like the lines inside a shell.
Open sea
The Ionian Sea fills much of the frame as clean, empty space. It looks toward Corfu and contrasts with the tightly packed town on the slope.

Pourquoi Sarandë
Une carte qui a du sens
Sarandë is where many people spent a summer, a honeymoon or a first trip to Albania. Its coastline is easy to recognise, even in plain black lines, and a map of the bay keeps the memory without a single postcard cliché.
Add the year of your trip or a line of your own to the title and subtitle, and keep or change the coordinates. Choose from five styles, including Blueprint and Sand, which suit coastal maps well. Order a printed poster, optionally framed, or download the files for $9.
