Ain Fouara
The fountain sits at a key junction in the centre, a point from which the main streets of the colonial grid extend and around which the city's public life gathers.

La carte
Sétif Map Poster & Print
Sétif stands at more than a thousand metres on the High Plateaus of eastern Algeria, a wide upland between mountain ranges where winters are cold and summers dry. The countryside is broad and open, given over largely to cereal farming, and the city spreads across it freely, with no major river or coastline to confine the outward growth of its streets.
The site was the Roman town of Sitifis, and remains of its past survive in the city. The modern centre was laid out in the colonial era as a regular grid, with long straight streets and a central focus at Ain Fouara, a fountain topped by a statue of a woman that has become the symbol of the city.
Sétif is also remembered for the events of 8 May 1945, when demonstrations on the day of the Allied victory in Europe were violently suppressed, a turning point on the road to Algerian independence. A Sétif map poster captures the steady geometry of the centre giving way to newer districts and ring roads on the plateau.

Central grid
Straight, parallel streets form a rectangular pattern in the old centre, easy to read from above and especially crisp in monochrome.
Plateau edges
Beyond the built-up area, open fields and straight roads spread across the plateau, giving the map a spacious frame of fine lines and empty ground.

Pourquoi Sétif
Une carte qui a du sens
Sétif is home for many Algerians in France and beyond, and a city with a strong identity, from Ain Fouara to its football club. A map of it is a personal, understated way to keep that connection visible.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates with a name, a neighbourhood or a significant date, and choose one of five styles. Paper suits the colonial-era grid, while Noir gives the plateau a dramatic, wintry feel.
