Shādegān Map Poster & Print
Shādegān lies in the far south-west of Iran, on the alluvial lowlands of Khuzestan where the land barely rises above sea level. From above, the town is a compact block of streets set in a landscape that becomes steadily wetter to the south. The Jarrahi river crosses the plain nearby, and irrigation channels and field boundaries add fine lines around the built-up area.
The town is best known for the Shadegan wetlands, one of the largest wetland systems in Iran and a site listed under the Ramsar Convention. On a map this shows as a broad, irregular expanse of marsh and open water, a strong contrast to the orderly street pattern of the town. Reed beds, tidal flats and waterways give the southern part of the map a loose, organic texture.
A Shādegān map poster pairs these two characters: the regular grid where people live and the shifting edges of water beyond it. Rendered in black and white, the wetland becomes a soft field of shapes against the firm lines of roads. It is a quiet, spacious composition, suited to someone who knows how this corner of Khuzestan looks and feels.

Jarrahi river
The river crosses the flat Khuzestan plain close to the town, a single winding line that feeds the wetlands and shapes the surrounding farmland.
Compact town grid
The built-up area forms a tight, mostly regular block of streets, which reads clearly against the open, low-lying land that surrounds it on every side.

Pourquoi Shādegān
Une carte qui a du sens
People who grew up in Shādegān, or who have family ties to the town, often want a picture of home that is calm rather than busy. This map shows the town beside its wetland, a view that says a great deal about the place without any photographs.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with a family name or a date that matters. Choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand works especially well with the soft forms of the marshland.
