Hills and valleys
Wooded hills surround the central area, and streets follow the valley floors between them. The pattern gives the poster a varied, loosely structured look.

Xianning Map Poster & Print
Xianning lies in the southeast of Hubei province, south of Wuhan, on the way toward Hunan. The central urban area is set among low, wooded hills, with the Xian River and several small lakes and reservoirs shaping its edges. From above, the city is a mix of older streets near the centre and newer, larger blocks spreading out along the valley.
The area is known for its hot springs and for osmanthus trees, whose flowers scent the city in autumn. Rail and road lines to the south pass through here, including the high-speed line between Wuhan and Guangzhou, which cuts a straight line across the landscape. Xianning also includes Chibi, the county-level city associated with the Battle of Red Cliffs on the Yangtze.
A Xianning map poster shows how the city grows around the hills rather than over them. Streets follow the valleys, water fills the lower ground, and green areas separate the built-up districts. The result is a softer, more open map than those of the larger cities further north in the province.

Lakes and river
The Xian River and several small lakes and reservoirs sit among the districts. Their irregular shapes stand out against the regular city blocks.
High-speed rail
The Wuhan–Guangzhou line runs through the area in a long, straight line, crossing valleys on viaducts and linking the city with central and southern China.

Pourquoi Xianning
Une carte qui a du sens
Xianning is a place many people remember for its hot springs, its autumn osmanthus or a family home in the hills. A map of the city's valleys and water is a calm, personal thing to hang on a wall.
Edit the title and subtitle to mark a hometown or a trip, and adjust the coordinates if you want. Choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Paper suits the soft, green landscape well.
