Dense old core
Narrow lanes and closely set buildings form a compact, irregular centre, clearly different from the open farmland that surrounds it.

La mappa
Ahraura Map Poster & Print
Ahraura lies in Mirzapur district in eastern Uttar Pradesh, on the plain south of the Ganges, where the land begins to rise toward the Vindhya hills. On a map, the town forms a dense cluster of narrow lanes and closely packed buildings, surrounded by fields and linked by roads to nearby towns and villages.
The area has a long past. An edict of the emperor Ashoka, inscribed on a rock in the hills near the town, was identified here in the twentieth century and is one of the notable archaeological sites of the region. Varanasi lies a short distance to the north.
An Ahraura map poster captures the contrast between the tight, organic lanes of the old town and the open farmland around it, with the first rises of the hills to the south. It is a thoughtful piece for families connected to Mirzapur and the surrounding region.
