Mine and plant sites
Shafts, processing plants and support buildings appear as compact, angular footprints separated by service roads, a clear record of how the operation is spread across the land.

La mappa
Amandelbult Map Poster & Print
Amandelbult is a platinum mining area in Limpopo, South Africa, on the western limb of the Bushveld Complex, one of the world's major sources of platinum group metals. Rather than a single town centre, its map shows a series of separate clusters: mine shafts and processing sites, the residential settlements that house workers and their families, and the roads that tie them together.
The surrounding country is flat to gently rolling bushveld, and it frames the settlements with wide open space. Large engineered forms such as tailings dams and rock dumps appear as smooth, geometric shapes that stand out against the organic scatter of bush tracks. The town of Thabazimbi and the Waterberg lie further to the north.
An Amandelbult map poster is a personal object for people whose working lives or childhoods are tied to the mine. It shows a landscape shaped by industry, but in monochrome the effect is surprisingly calm: a few precise clusters of streets, long straight roads and plenty of open ground in between.

Residential settlements
Housing areas form their own small street networks, some neatly planned and others more irregular, each one a distinct island on the map.
Open bushveld
Between the built areas lie wide stretches of savanna crossed only by tracks and roads, giving the poster breathing room and a strong sense of scale.
