Old Town crossroads
Main Street and Chain Bridge Road meet in Old Town beside the historic courthouse. The city grew around this original junction, and it is still the easiest centre to read.

La mappa
Fairfax Map Poster & Print
Fairfax is an independent city in Northern Virginia, about twenty-five kilometres west of Washington, D.C. It is the seat of Fairfax County but is not legally part of it, an arrangement typical of Virginia. On a map it appears as a compact, irregular territory surrounded on all sides by the county's suburbs.
At its heart is Old Town Fairfax, where the historic county courthouse has stood since around 1800 at a crossroads of old routes. Several major roads meet here, including Main Street and Chain Bridge Road. On the poster they are spokes leading out through commercial strips and curving residential neighbourhoods.
George Mason University lies just south of the city, and its campus of quads, car parks and loop roads adds a distinct pattern to the map. A Fairfax map poster captures the whole mix. It shows a historic courthouse core, post-war subdivisions with cul-de-sacs, and a large public university, all within one small city.

George Mason campus
The university grounds on the southern edge form a broad block of quads, paths and loop roads, clearly different from the residential streets around them.
Suburban cul-de-sacs
Beyond the centre, curving roads and dead-end courts fill the neighbourhoods. They give the poster the looping, branching texture of post-war American suburbs.

Perché Fairfax
Una mappa che ha un significato
Fairfax maps are popular with George Mason graduates and with families who raised children in the city. People who worked in the capital region often want one as a reminder. The historic centre gives the map a clear focal point.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, for example with a graduation year or the address of a first home. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sizes include 18×24″ and 24×36″, as HD files or printed posters.
