Valley streets
The main streets follow the narrow valley floor, which gives the town a long, uneven shape determined by the ground.

La mappa
Huwei Map Poster & Print
Huwei lies in the rural, hilly east of Chongqing Municipality in southwestern China, in the wider basin of the Yangtze. The terrain here is steep and broken, and settlements fit themselves into the few flatter areas between ridges.
That terrain shapes everything on the map. The town's streets run along valley floors or along the contours of the slopes, and roads between villages wind in tight curves. A Huwei map poster shows this pattern with streets packed into narrow spaces and everything else given over to hills.
Around the town, farmland climbs the slopes in terraces, and small streams run down through the valleys. In a black-and-white print, the settlement looks like a small, dense cluster set in a landscape of curves and contours.

Switchback roads
Roads leading out of town curve back and forth across the slopes, leaving loops and bends that look almost like handwriting on the map.
Terraced hillsides
Farmland climbs the surrounding slopes in terraces, giving the countryside around the town its layered, contour-like texture.
