La mappa

Ibusuki Map Poster & Print

Ibusuki sits at the southern tip of the Satsuma Peninsula in Kagoshima Prefecture, where the peninsula meets the mouth of Kagoshima Bay. Its map is framed by water on the east, where the town follows the curve of the bay shore in a long ribbon of streets.

Inland the landscape is volcanic. Lake Ikeda, a large, nearly circular caldera lake, lies to the west, and beyond it rises the symmetrical cone of Mount Kaimon, often called Satsuma Fuji. Together they give the wider map strong, simple shapes that stand out against the surrounding farmland.

The town is best known for its sand baths, where visitors are buried in naturally heated sand on the beach, a practice made possible by the geothermal activity beneath the coast. A Ibusuki map poster shows a place where shoreline, crater lake and volcano all fit into a single frame.

Perché Ibusuki

Una mappa che ha un significato

Ibusuki is a place people visit for rest: the sand baths, the hot springs, the view of Kaimon across the fields. A map of the town is a calm reminder of a trip or a family connection to the far south of Kyushu.

You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, adding a travel date or a short note, and choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
