La mappa

Panauti̇̄ Map Poster & Print

Panauti lies in Kavrepalanchok District, south-east of the Kathmandu Valley, where the Roshi and Punyamati rivers meet. It is one of the best preserved Newar towns in Nepal, with narrow brick lanes, courtyards and small squares arranged around temples. The meeting of the rivers has long given the town religious importance.

Among its landmarks, the Indreshwar Mahadev temple is a tall pagoda-style shrine often cited as one of the finest in the country. On a map, the old town appears as a dense, irregular cluster tucked between the two rivers, surrounded by terraced fields that climb the valley slopes.

A Panauti̇̄ map poster shows the town's close-knit fabric and its setting between flowing water and farmland. The twisting lanes of the core and the lines of the rivers produce a detailed, balanced composition. It is a quietly meaningful map for anyone connected to Newar culture or the hills of Nepal.

01

River confluence

The Roshi and Punyamati rivers meet at the edge of town, their curving lines framing the old settlement and giving the map a natural structure.

02

Newar lanes

The historic core is a web of narrow lanes, courtyards and squares, closely packed and irregular, typical of traditional Newar town planning.

03

Terraced valley

Around the town, fields step up the surrounding slopes in terraces, adding layered curves that surround the dense centre on the map.

Perché Panauti̇̄

Una mappa che ha un significato

Panauti means a great deal to those who grew up among its temples, and to travellers who have spent time there. A map of the town is a calm way to hold onto that sense of place.

You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, adding a family name or a date, and choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
