La mappa
Shuitu Map Poster & Print
Shuitu lies in the Beibei district of Chongqing, on the banks of the Jialing River north of the city centre. On a map, the river curves past the town, and the surrounding land is hilly, as it is across much of Chongqing. Streets bend around the slopes, and the built-up area follows the flatter ground.
In recent years the area has grown as part of Chongqing's development to the north, with new roads, business parks and residential districts. On the map this shows as wide, planned streets next to older settlement and green hillsides, a mix that reflects the rapid change in this part of the municipality.
A Shuitu map poster brings together a strong river, steep ground and new development. The Jialing gives the map a flowing line, the hills create pockets of open space, and the new streets add a sense of order. It is a map of a place in transition, drawn with clean lines.

Hilly terrain
Hills and ridges surround the town, so the streets fit into the valleys and flatter land, leaving green gaps where the ground is steep.
New urban districts
Recent development has added wide roads and planned blocks, which sit alongside older, more irregular streets across the map.
