The ancient mound
The town grew around a raised tell, and the older streets still gather tightly around this higher ground, forming the densest part of the map.

La mappa
Tallkayf Map Poster & Print
Tallkayf, also known as Tel Keppe, lies on the Nineveh Plains a short distance north of Mosul. Its name is usually translated as hill of stones, a reference to the ancient mound around which the town grew. It has long been one of the principal towns of the Chaldean Catholic community, with churches that have anchored local life for centuries.
From above, the older part of town forms a dense cluster of streets around the higher ground, while newer quarters extend outward in a more regular pattern. Beyond them lie the broad, open wheat fields of the Nineveh Plains, crossed by straight roads leading to neighbouring towns and villages. The contrast between the compact centre and the wide plain is striking.
A Tallkayf map poster holds that shape in a single image: a clustered old town, its expansion, and the fields that surround it. For a community whose members are now spread across Iraq, Europe, North America and Australia, the map carries particular weight. It is a precise, quiet record of home.

Church quarter
Churches sit within the old centre, their compounds set among close-packed streets, marking the long-standing Chaldean Christian character of the town.
Nineveh Plains
Open farmland extends in every direction, crossed by straight roads to nearby towns. On the poster this becomes a calm, spacious frame around the settlement.
