La mappa
Tongjing Map Poster & Print
Tongjing lies in the hilly country north of central Chongqing. This is a landscape of ridges, terraced slopes and rivers that cut deep channels through the rock. The town has grown along the valley where the ground allows, so its streets bend and branch in response to the terrain rather than following a regular grid.
The area is known in the region for its hot springs, which have made it a destination for visitors from the city. On the map, the built-up area is mostly compact and linear. It is squeezed between hillsides, while roads climb out in switchbacks toward villages and farmland on the ridges. Green, empty space dominates everything beyond the valley.
A Tongjing map poster shows a small town in Chongqing's famously uneven topography, a mix of water, slopes and narrow streets. The contrast between the dense valley settlement and the open hills around it gives the image a strong, clear structure. It is a personal choice, well suited to someone who knows the place well.

Winding hill roads
Roads leave the town in tight curves and switchbacks as they climb the ridges. They show up as fine looping lines on the map.
River course
A river winds through the valley and shapes where the town could grow. It gives the composition a clear natural line.
