The Northway
I-87 cuts through Wilton from south to north. Its straight, broad line and interchange loops give structure to the otherwise branching road network.

La mappa
Wilton Map Poster & Print
Wilton is a town in Saratoga County, New York, just north of Saratoga Springs. It doesn't have a single dense centre. From above, it is a spread of winding residential roads, cul-de-sacs, open fields and patches of woodland. Interstate 87, the Adirondack Northway, runs through the middle, and a commercial area with Wilton Mall has grown up around one of its exits.
In the west, the land rises towards Mount McGregor. Grant Cottage stands there, the house where Ulysses S. Grant spent his final weeks in 1885 finishing his memoirs. It is now a state historic site. Wilton Wildlife Preserve and Park protects part of the town's pine barrens and grassland habitat.
A Wilton map poster shows the landscape of an American town, as opposed to a city: branching roads, pockets of subdivision, the straight line of the highway, and wide areas of green between them. It is a relaxed and open composition that captures the space around Saratoga.

Mount McGregor
To the west, roads climb towards Mount McGregor and Grant Cottage. The contours of the hill make that side of the map quieter and more open.
Subdivision streets
Curving residential streets and cul-de-sacs appear in clusters across the town. On the poster they form small, organic knots between larger areas of land.
