Astanajapura is a district in Cirebon Regency, West Java, set on the lowlands southeast of the city of Cirebon. It is not a single compact town but a cluster of villages spread across farmland, and the map reflects that: settlements line the roads in long ribbons, with rice fields and gardens filling the spaces between them.
The landscape is shaped by agriculture and water. Irrigation channels and small rivers cross the district, feeding the paddies, and the roads tend to follow them or the edges of fields. Main roads leading out of Cirebon carry most of the traffic, and the villages gather along these corridors in a pattern common across the Javanese lowlands.
