Mount Ciremai slopes
The volcano's flanks rise west of the town. Roads and settlements thin as the ground climbs, leaving wide open areas on the map.

Kuningan Map Poster & Print
Kuningan lies in the east of West Java, at the foot of Mount Ciremai, the highest peak in the province. The town sits on sloping ground, and from above its streets gradually give way to terraced fields and forest as the land climbs toward the volcano. The mountain dominates both the landscape and the map.
The regency has a quieter, cooler climate than the coastal plain around Cirebon to the north. In Indonesian history it is known for Linggarjati, a hill village where the Linggadjati Agreement between Indonesia and the Netherlands was negotiated in 1946. The building now serves as a museum.
A Kuningan map poster shows the town's central streets, the roads leading up and down the slopes and the green margins beyond. Roads follow the terrain, which gives the pattern a softer, more organic character than the plains towns of Java.

Terrain-led roads
Instead of a strict grid, many streets bend with the slopes. This gives the town's outline a flowing, uneven shape that reflects the land beneath it.
Terraced countryside
Around the town, rice terraces and plantations make a fine texture. The built-up area fades into it gradually, with no hard boundary.
